GIUAANI WINERY WINS IWSC GEORGIAN WINE PRODUCER OF THE YEAR TROPHY

In December 2025, we received one of the strongest international recognitions in our history at the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC): Giuaani Winery was awarded the IWSC Georgian Wine Producer of the Year Trophy, and our winemaker Giorgi Jmukhadze was named #1 in IWSC’s Top 10 Young Winemakers of Georgia.

Alongside these two major titles, our wines achieved an outstanding medal result in the same IWSC judging session: 3 Gold, 3 Silver, and 1 Bronze across seven wines.

For our team in Manavi, Kakheti, this is more than an award moment — it’s confirmation that Georgian terroir, tradition, and precision winemaking can stand confidently on a global stage.

ABOUT IWSC (INTERNATIONAL WINE & SPIRIT COMPETITION)

The IWSC is one of the world’s most established wine and spirits competitions, founded in 1969. It is known for a rigorous approach to evaluation, combining structured tasting with analytical standards. For producers, IWSC medals and trophies are meaningful because they benchmark wines against a large and competitive field under consistent judging conditions.

THE IWSC JUDGING IN GEORGIA: CONTEXT BEHIND OUR WIN

Our results were announced as part of the IWSC Wine & Spirits Judging in Georgia (2026 results set), published in early December 2025. The judging in Georgia welcomed close to 400 entries from Georgia and Armenia and involved an international panel led by Sarah Abbott MW, supported by respected UK specialists and Georgian industry professionals.

OUR TWO TOP IWSC TITLES

  1. IWSC Georgian Wine Producer of the Year Trophy
IWSC awarded Giuaani Winery the Georgian Wine Producer of the Year trophy following the judging sessions. This trophy is especially important because it reflects overall performance across multiple wines and styles — not just a single bottle.

  2. #1 Young Winemaker of Georgia: Giorgi Jmukhadze
IWSC ranked our winemaker Giorgi Jmukhadze #1 in its Top 10 Young Winemakers of Georgia list, based on the points achieved by the wines submitted to IWSC’s Global Judging in Georgia. This recognition is merit-based and tied directly to performance in the judging.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR GIUAANI (AND FOR GEORGIAN WINE)

For us, these IWSC results validate what we’ve been building in Manavi: wines that respect Georgia’s deep winemaking heritage while meeting modern international standards of balance, clarity, and expression.

For Georgian wine, it’s another signal of momentum — quality is being recognized not only for tradition, but for precision and consistency in the glass.
